Abuse examples of the DMCA.com Compliant Badge would be:
- when the DMCA.com Compliant Badge is placed on a website that does not comply with (DMCA) Takedown Procedures or Process
- when the DMCA.com Compliant Badge is placed on a website that does not clearly state their (DMCA) Takedown Procedures or Process
- when the DMCA.com Compliant Badge is placed on a website that does not provide abuse@, DMCA@, support@ email contact information in order to submit takedown information
- when the DMCA.com Compliant Badge is placed on a website that does not comply with the list of conditions outlined in the DMCA.com Compliant webpage
As part of the DMCA.com Compliant Badge Terms of Service, website and ISP owners using the compliant badge must complete all the requirements laid out on the DMCA.com Compliant page. Further when contacted by DMCA.com for clarification or statement regarding the veracity of their compliant status the website owner / contact must reply within 24 hours. Should the Compliant Badge user not respond as per the DMCA Process, DMCA.com reserves the right to stop delivery of the Compliant Badge and mark the site as Unauthorized to use the DMCA.com Compliant Badge.
